Richard Avedon

I have a challenge for you all. Try to figure out the significance of this image and comment your thoughts. It is an odd fashion photo especially for the time (doesn't show the woman's face), it is a great composition (obviously staged). Think about the time frame (post WWII) and fashion.



One of the greatest fashion photographers of all time. Before they all became dull as hell.

I'm not sure to answer your question, but I sure was draw to the photo!

Does it have anything to do with skirt length?

Yeah Athena it does have to do with the dress. It was right after the WWII rationing of wools and cottons. It was kind of a we are Americans and we can make dresses with tons of wool again statement.

Its a cool picture fo sho.
